Strategy Deployment: Does It Really Work?

We have seen it before: top leadership comes up with the strategic direction of the organization, and in most cases - but not all, it does so without the input from operational staff (the true front line soldiers). In the meantime, at the operational level, employees may know about the firm's strategic intention or may be confused about it. They may even have their own understanding of what goes on at the top and about where the organization is headed. We call this operational view of the company's direction strategic perception.

This post intends to address how to effectively measure the organization's strategic intention versus its strategic perception. The link below, published by Quality Progress Magazine, features one of our own volunteer contributing writers, Mr. Ramon Perdigao. Mr. Perdigao has worked extensively with strategic management and strategy deployment. Over the years he has found that what is intended to be deployed by organizations does not always get realized at the operational level.  What might seniors leaders be missing? Does it happen due to the sheer volume of information that goes on at large companies? In which quadrant do you think your organization fits in at this point in time?

Read what Mr. Perdigao has to say:

What are your thoughts about this approach? Can the strategic direction of the organization be truly deployed and understood by all employees?
